Well, I got a re-writeable CD-R drive, which will help me back up, for small bucks yesterday, and installed it in a half-hour, including Nero Ahead software and a bunch of other stuff.

I also downloaded the Winamp 2.x Adapt-X plugin, which attaches and manages DirectX DSP plug-ins. I downloaded a great DirectX Audio DSP package from http://www.arboretum.com, Arboretum Software, which includes 3 free plug-ins and the rest demo which cut out every 10 seconds. I am using the Echo plug-in, and it's very nice.

I have been having resource problems on my machine, and I'm trying to narrow down the System Tray? programs that run on startup to see if I can find the culprit. I just ran out of resources a few minutes ago. I really think I've got a bad apple in there.
